This is a support group for single African American men and women of all ages, who are concerned their children and grand-children are losing or have lost their true identity.
We have the highest rate of single parent households than any other group. Our children lag behind in academics. We have a higher incidence of illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension. We will explore ways to directly impact our children to break this cycle.
The purpose of this group is to reunite parent, grandparent, and child with their African/African American heritage through cultural, spiritual, political, recreational, economical, nutritional empowerment.
We will be doing a vast variety of activities throughtout the Atlanta area. We will have parent rap sessions. We will introduce our children to Blues, Jazz, Soul music, Black poetry, Science and Black inventors. We will hike for health, juice for health, camp, picnic, attend museums, plays, lectures, and concerts that focus on our heritage.
We will rebuild the lost foundation that our children need to be proud of who they are. We must start young, but any age is never too late!
