May Wine Tasting at Vine & Tap Wine Bar

Join members as we sample an array of wines led by our local wine representative, presented alongside Vine & Tap owner, Ian Mendelsohn.

Ian Mendelsohn has had the opportunity to serve in a number of extraordinary roles and places during his career. Upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, he worked as a sommelier at Windows on the World working under the tutelage of Andrea Immer, M.S, and the famed wine educator Kevin Zraly. He then went on to run the wine department at Christie’s Auction House for almost five years. His career then moved onto Las Vegas where he was instrumental in opening of the Wynn Hotel, Pure and Tao Night Clubs. He went on to become Wine Director of the Mirage Hotel and Casino. He was then recruited to become the Wine Director at the St. Regis Buckhead, and most recently the wine specialist at H&F Bottle Shop.

He is also one of only a handful of people in the state of Georgia who have passed the Diploma examination of the Wine and Spirits Trust. A native of Baltimore, Ian favors wines with soul, that say something of the land from which they come and our relationship to it. Ian and his wife and two children reside in Atlanta, and are very involved with the High Museum Wine auction.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
