New York City + Modern African Rhythms = African Soul Jam, the FUN side of Africa!!

Are you a DANCE or MUSIC ENTHUSIASTS? Do you like African pop music or are curious to know more about it? Then come to our African Soul Jam Meetup events, where you can socialize and dance with other music enthusiasts.

Unfamiliar with modern African rhythms? Imagine beats that get your head nodding, your hips swaying, and your feet tapping, even if you don’t understand what the lyrics mean! New York City’s nightlife is vibrant and diverse, but African music is surprisingly lacking. African Soul Jam parties bring world-class African music to some of the city's trendy night spots. Our live DJs spin contemporary, great rhythms spanning the African continent, from Dakar to Madagascar, Cairo to Cape Town. We also feature occasional live performances.

At African Soul Jam, you will hear upbeat tunes in Africa's popular genres, including Makossa, Highlife, Afrobeat, Mapouka, Soukous, Hiplife, Coupé-Décalé, Naija, Bongo, Kwaito, Ethio, and Colazouk. You won't hear these rhythmic blends of great jams ANYWHERE ELSE in the city!

African Soul Jam is NOT a run-of-the-mill club gig. We are passionate about spreading a positive image of Africa, connecting like-minded music lovers, and having FUN in the process. You’ll be a good fit for our Meetup if you find yourself in at least ONE of the following categories:
