Come on board and let's go on a Dance Music Safari across Africa right here in New York City - experience the FUN side of Africa. This is a get-together of diverse group of Music Enthusiasts in a lounge where they socialize, enjoy, & dance to live DJs spinning "upbeat tunes & top-hits" from Africa, with 'occasional' live performances by professional artists.
From Dakar to Madagascar, from Cairo to Capetown, we’ll bring you rhythmic blend of contemporary and traditional dance jams spanning the continent including Africa's popular genre such as Makossa, Highlife, Afrobeat, Mbalax, Soukous, Hiplife, Coupe Decale, Naija, Bongo, Kwaito, Juju, Ethio, Colazouk, and many more.
This is a social transcultural meetup. The only major requirement is be a GENUINE dance or music lover. When you feel the captivating beats you’ll rhumba! In fact, you are a 'good-fit' if you consider YOURSELF in ONE of the following 10 categories:
Energetic or adventurous.
Equal-opportunity dancer.
Want some fun & good time.
World citizen, tourist, or diplomat.
Friend of Africa or African in Diaspora.
Enjoy Global dance vibes or World music.
Like to socialize, make friends, or network.
Multi-cultured person or cultural-exchanger.
Spontaneous, open/curious-minded, or well-rounded.
Simply want to get out of same old stuff & try new thang!!
If you can say yes to at least ONE of the above, you will have FUN in this group. We will be doing this at some of the New York City's trendy and prime location night spots. This is a UNIQUE event in the city. We are NOT run-off-the-mill club gig. We are passionate about doing good and having FUN in the process. You are under no obligation. Just come out whenever you can and have a good time with nice people.
