If you are like most of us, you are probably uncomfortable coming to your first Divorce Care Session. You probably don't like the circumstances you are in; you may be deeply hurt by what has happened, and it's likely you are feeling angry about your situation. You may also be a little embarrassed about being here.
These feelings are normal. They are the kind of feelings I had the first time I went to a divorce support group. But after the first few sessions, you'll begin to notice that you look forward to coming, that you find it helpful to be around people who understand how you feel and that you have a place to talk about what is going on in your life.
You'll hear concepts that can help you heal from your separation and divorce. In fact, you'll hear things that can help you put all the pieces of your life back together again.
We're sorry for the circumstances that bring you to this group, but we're glad you found us. We look forward to spending the next few months together as you start down the road toward rebuilding your life. Our prayer is that you will heal and, in the process, develop a deepening relationship with God thru Jesus Christ.
P.S. We have a New Updated set of DVD's. We use room U202 and U204. We first meet in U202 for welcome announcements and to watch the DVD.
Facilitators: Sharon Pillow, Steve Schuster, Julia Blunk, and Steve Livingston
