Green Mountain After Work Hike and BBQ Dinner

We'll hike Green Mountain/Lakewood from the Alameda side, doing a loop around the north end of the mountain.  This hike is 5.1 miles with 760' of elevation gain--a little longer than usual, so do not come on this hike if you are a slow hiker!  The entire hike will be after sunset—bring a headlamp

After the hike, those interested go to Moe's Original BBQ for dinner/drinks.  Note:  Some vegetarian dishes will be available, including BBQ tofu.

Please note the details about bringing appropriate gear and in case of bad weather in this Meetup Group's Welcome description. The weather is mercurial this time of year, so on the day of the hike if the weather is questionable be sure to check the website or call or email the leader (cell# will be sent to those who've RSVPed) to confirm the hike is on. This time of year, you may need traction devices such as Micro Spikes. Dogs are welcome on this hike, but they must be on a leash and you must pick up after them. If you join this hike, you are agreeing to this waiver.

Directions : We're meeting at the Florida Lot of Green Mountain/William Frederick Hayden Park, on the west side of W. Alameda Pkwy (across from W. Florida Dr.), about 1/4 mile north of the Alameda/Jewell intersection in Lakewood (do not go to the Utah Lot which is a little south of the Florida Lot). Click here for a Google map with directions.

It was great, a bit cold but very invigorating and great company at the restaurant.

It was a great hike despite feeling the cold at the parking lot, it didn't take long for one to warm up. Ed does a great job in leading this after work hikes. Way to go Ed! :)
I was not able to attend the BBQ dinner!
