Deer Creek Canyon After Work Hike & Dinner

We'll hike scenic Deer Creek Canyon Park, which has  views of the canyon, the hogback, and Denver. The hike is about 3 miles with 900' of elevation gain. After the hike, those interested will go to nearby Carlos Miguel's Mexican Bar & Grill for dinner/drinks.

Please note the details about bringing appropriate gear and in case of bad weather in this Meetup Group's Welcome description. You may wish to bring a spare pair of shoes to change into for the restaurant after the hike just in case the trails are muddy. The weather is mercurial this time of year, so on the day of the hike if the weather is questionable be sure to check the website or call or email the leader (cell# will be sent to those who've RSVPed) to confirm the hike is on. Dogs are welcome on the hike, but you must pick up after your dogs and they must be on a leash. If you join this event, you are agreeing to this waiver.

Directions: Click here for a map with directions. The easiest way to get there is, from C470, exit Wadsworth south, and immediately turn right/west onto Deer Creek Canyon Road. After 2 miles, you'll reach a Y in the road--veer left to stay on Deer Creek Canyon Road. After another mile you'll pass South Valley Park on the right, and about a mile after that you'll see a sign for Deer Creek Canyon Park. Turn left/south onto Grizzly Drive. You'll go up a winding road for about a quarter mile, and you'll see the sign and parking lot for Deer Creek Canyon Park on the right.

This time of year when all of the parks are available for after work hikes, I spread out the hikes to all the different parks. You can look at 'Past Meetups' to see the variety of hikes that I lead.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
