Far too many reasons to list here. And they are jeopordizing the 3 groups I'm the main organizer for, not to mention the dozens of other groups I'm involved in.
Almost 600 memebers between the 3 groups that I'm the primary organizer for.
We've tried & extensively tested the new format as a group of organizers and 9 out of 10 of us definately didn't like the changes. It's extremely hard to contain one's anger at this forced change, especially when we've invested so much in our groups!
Organizing using Meetup.com is like a bad relationship with an abusive partner. Once you've invested too much time and effort into building your Meetup groups(relationship), you realize the extent of their abusive tendencies (abusing the power they have over you) as they know you'll lose your entire investment (everything you've built and work so hard for) if you leave. The biggest problem is that most abusive partners either don't know or don't care that they are being abusive, and they require professional therapy or counselling. The challenge is how do we counsel/teach the extremely disrespectful Meetup HQ on what are appropriate and innappropriate ways to treat their customers.... Hopefully this group comes up with effective and constructive strategies for dealing with Meetup HQ.
