As you are probably aware, Meetup has removed the option for Organizers to allow "Maybe" RSVPs for an event; there has been much discussion about this on the Forums and the blog, with many calling for the option to be restored. http://meetupblog.mee...

Meetup quickly "declined" two rapidly-rising UserVoice suggestions to bring back the "Maybe" option, and has largely dismissed people's concerns about Meetup's removal of the option. Because of this, some Meetup members/organizers have created an online petition to bring back the "Maybe" option. Here it is:

Having been a Meetup Organizer, I don't miss the "Maybe" option because it makes meeting planning all up-in-the-air. Key participants need to commit Yes or No so the Organizer can count on their support or absence. In most cases, simply not RSVPing is the default "Maybe" option...

I organize numerous different kinds of meetups for numerous different meetup groups, and I really need the maybe feature for certain types/kinds of meetups.

To my understanding, the main reason they got rid of maybe was to cater to the profit oriented meetup businesses that charge for meetup events. (To make the programming less confusing for that application, when it would have been much easier to remove the maybe option only for meetups that charge money)
