Agile Undercover: When Customers Don’t Collaborate

Customer collaboration is vital to Agile teams. Unfortunately, customers are not always as involved as Agile methods demand. What are the causes of inadequate customer involvement? What are the consequences on the teams’ ability to function and self-organize? In this talk, Rashina will discuss findings from her research that answer these questions. She will also share a set of strategies used by Agile teams to continue practising Agile methods despite inadequate customer involvement. She has collectively named them "Agile Undercover". These results were presented earlier in the Journal of Information and Software Technology, at XP conference, and at APN-Wellington.

Meet from 5:30pm for socialising followed by a 6pm start to the talk.

Venue:   GE Building, 8 Tangihua Street, Auckland (opposite Countdown).

Wait in the central foyer, an Agile Auckland GE member will escort you up to the 4th floor. Nametags will be provided and must be worn at all times please.

Donations to help us keep these events and website running will be gratefully accepted on the night.

I am prepared to pay a fine of NZ$ 5.00 for RSVP and not attending. Unfortunately, in a shower, I found that the battery in my car had gone to death. So from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm, I was attending to my car.

Hi Agilers! We have had to start a waiting list for this event, as it's getting beyond the capacity of the room. To help us out, if you have RSVPed and can no longer attend, please un-RSVP so that your seat can go to someone on the waiting list.

    Thanks!

Starting work as a Scrum Master on Monday in an organisation that is in the process of adopting Agile in phases. Keen to attend this talk and network!

    Hi Lena

We're walking a tightrope between having the talk end early enough so that people can get home to feed their families, and start late enough that people can get there after work. We can always carry on network afterwards - one of the ways that GE is a great venue is that there are lots of cafes and bars close by!

Great choice for the venue. Quite accessible.
The preliminary 30 minutes networking session seems a bit too short for 80 attendants. Anything that we can do about it?

It will be interesting to hear everyone's perspectives on the relative benefits of practising Agile methods versus an enterprise Agile practice!
