Job - Senior Agile Interaction Designer, Contract (NYC)

Beja S.
Woodland, CA
Post #: 51

Plastic Surgery Consumers in NYC is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer who has a passion for simplicity and function to correct major flaws in our current website design (a content management system). The Designer will have significant influence over the interaction design and influence in story creation.

The website is on its 3rd major revision in paper form (low fidelity wireframes). Personas and business domain knowledge will be provided to you and you will have access to customers for additional research if needed.

This is an immediate contract position with very limited hours. We may request additional periodic work over a 3 to 12 month period. Agencies and independent contractors may apply.

Correct wireframes and processes using well accepted design patterns (particularly in website registration, password reset, etc.)

Review the website holistically, make suggestions, and revise wireframes as needed

Destroy, re-envision, and re-wireframe a few key areas of the website

No documentation other than drawing wireframes and writing light descriptions when asked/needed

Communicate, especially verbally, with the owner and development team who are elementary Agile practitioners (stories, sprints, [video] co-location)

Additional work may be requested later, particularly to design and create wireframes for new and modified website features as well as conducting any necessary user research.

Ability to work and bill in small chunks (a few hours) over a stretched period of time producing only the minimum amount of document(s) required

Experience fulfilling interaction design role within Agile teams

Creative, big-picture thinker who enjoys getting hands-on, thinks for him/herself, and accepts design feedback

Excellent hands-on wire framing skills

5+ years of interaction design experience with consumer-facing web sites, particularly content management systems, applying goal-directed design principles
