updates and request for Feb 28 meetup

Sorry for being quiet for a while.  There is much happening behind the scenes at Agile Orlando but I’m a bit behind in giving you updates.

First, we have a talk coming Feb 28 by Certified Scrum Trainer Bachan Anand on "What is Self Organization (and What is Not)".  I've seen Bachan's classes and it should be a great interactive session.

However, I'm having a challenge finding a space for the talk.  If you know of a space on the SOUTH SIDE of Orlando that can

  • allow 20-25 people to not only sit but move around for some exercises
  • will allow food (gotta have the food)
  • can provide a wall or screen or TV for projection
  • can provide a projector (optional; if not, I can find one)
  • would like to show as a sponsor on the Agile Orlando meetup space (optional and happy to do it)
Then we can have a great evening with Bachan.

Also, we are lining up some other speakers and events.  Look for announcements for:
  1. Lean Coffee returns next Friday (2/21).  Watch for a new venue.
  2. Announcements of an Agile Tools 1-day conference being hosted by South Florida Agile in May
  3. Our first collaboration with Tampa Bay Agile in hosting the first Florida Agile Open conference in Tampa in late June
and coming up very soon,  Orlando Code Camp with it's first year of an Agile track!

The 9th annual Orlando Code Camp will be held at Seminole State College on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014! As always, this is a free all-day event made possible by sponsors, speakers, and volunteers. This year's event is packed with a lot more technology than ever. In addition to our great Microsoft topics, we have a lot of sessions covering JavaScript, iOS, Android, Agile, gadgets, big data and more! We have an awesome lineup of speakers and sessions that will make this year's code camp an event that you won't want to miss!

Hope to see you at one of these upcoming events!
