Offshore teams and the need for documentation

There was a time when software offshoring was highly depended on heavy processes and comprehensive engineering documentation. Most of the time specifications and their approval were key milestones in our project plans. When offshore projects "go agile", how do you cope up with this whole situation?

In this Meetup, an offshore software engineering team from Colombo (currently starting projects in Oslo), who face real life challenges when it comes to communicating requirements and changes with their remote teams, are going to share their experiences. They will discuss about the challenges they face in real-world offshore engineering, and their experience with the new approach to online documentation using Wikis and some of the other interactive tools.

The presentation will be held in english.

    Interesting meetup.
Some of the tools are also used on standard agile projects, so going offshore is not different when both parties know how to work on a lean project.

Good thing that it worked for them, but in most of my cases a fool with a tool is still a fool.
