Act Like an Agilist with Jean Tabaka

Jean Tabaka is passionate about 'Act Like an Agilist' and she will host a chat about her experiences as a coach and also explain a bit about the why/how of developing and running the 'Act like an Agilist' workshop.

Jean's work in "Act Like an Agilist" involves:
- recognizing the value of applying Agile practices for social entrepreneurs
- helping volunteers better visualize their work and their progress
- inviting a discipline of exploration as we execute against existing product sets
- bringing in the Lean Canvas as a way to help teams act like Agilists in how they pivot or persevere toward their vision.

From Jean:
"Ultimately, I am deeply passionate about extracting Agile and Lean out of the realm of technologists. That has meant taking a deep look at a variety of Agile and Lean practices and translating them into their value for non-technologists. I want to support the great work of social entrepreneurs in tackling some of the world's most intractable problems. I want to support them to embrace tools and practices that can help them be most effective through empathy, transparency, exploration, and transition."

About Jean:

Jean Tabaka, Agile Fellow with Rally Software, is certified as a Scrumtrainer; a certified SAFe Practitioner and Trainer; a certified Cynefin trainer and facilitator; an inaugural Fellow of the Lean Systems Society (LSS), and an invited Board member of the LSS. She is continuing on her 30-year path of learning about software development principles, processes, and practices for people. She seeks a humane approach to bringing high value to our communities of creators and consumers. This has led her to move into disciplines that reach beyond traditional Agile or Lean frameworks. She has studied with Peter Senge in systems thinking, David Snowden in his Cynefin complexity work, and George Kembel in design thinking. Jean holds a Masters in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of “Collaboration Explained” and a variety of articles on Agile, organizational change, team dynamics, Lean thinking, and other associated topics. Occasionally, Jean blogs at and can be followed on twitter as @jeantabaka. You can find her at [masked]

Hey guys, any way you could coordinate with Jason Yip who's running his "Introduction to Lean by way of baking cakes..." meetup the same night? Am interested in both, but would have to choose if they're both the same day. Will post the same in Jason's meetup. Cheers!

Jean is travelling from overseas and has only limited availability. I will see if I can get Jason to shift his.
