Synopsis:

In any organization or team, there is an unseen emotional undercurrent. It is fed by the many relationships between team members, leaders and customers. These unseen forces impact how we work.

Collaborating with others is not always easy. Decision-making and moving forward can be a nightmare if you can’t find consensus or alignment around a common goal. You might have the brightest minds in the industry, but without the ability to come together as a team, productivity remains challenged.

Being able to shift your perspective to the human systems view can help you see patterns and influences that can open up more possibilities in how people collaborate, communicate and create. This subtle yet powerful paradigm shift helps you harness diversity as it shifts your perspective from the many people within the organization, to the relationships between them.

This shift is a great support to Agile as it gives a common language to previously nebulous dynamics and opens up possibilities to reveal/make visible and work with what is already there.

By attending this event, you will:

- Experience a shift in how you look at your relationships at work
- Go beyond Emotional and Social Intelligence to a Relationship Systems Intelligence perspective
- Learn how to see the “system” influence at work in your team and relationships
- Learn about toxic communications, their impact and how to avoid them
- Have fun with the third entity and emotional field created by SV-ATL

About the speaker - Dene Rogers:

Dene wants to live in a world where companies recognize their employees as the most important part of their business. Let’s face it – companies are made of people – not products, processes or tech infrastructure – there is an innate “humanness” to every company and team – let’s treat it that way.

Dene is a consultant, trainer, facilitator and coach who supports leaders in the Tech industry to create resilient, high performing and collaborative teams. She helps companies unlock their workforce potential by coaching leaders and teams in many different aspects around team identify, dynamics and getting results supported by positive work environments that foster healthy, cohesive, productive and creative teams.

Before starting her own business in 2011, Dene spent 15 years working in corporate environments on cross-functional teams across the globe - including South Africa, the UK and the United States. Most recently she’s worked for PayPal and then Yahoo! supporting cross-functional teams before deciding to pursue her interest in cultivating the personal and professional development of up-and-coming leaders and their teams in technology.

Dene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology and Political Science from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and is a certified Organizational Relationship Systems Coach also trained in the co-active coaching model.

Hello everyone - Due to the conflict with Agile Open California 2013 Conference taking place in Berkeley (Oct14 - 15), we have decided to move our meetup to October 29. This will allow our members to participate in both the events. Please make a note of the date change for our meetup to Tuesday, October 29. We hope you will all be able to make it and bring your colleagues and friends. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    Thank you!
