In the spirit of informing AgileWellingtonians about workshops, training and other events with international Agile stars we're happy to pass on John Rusk's message about Alistair Cockburn coming to Wellington.

Cheers,

John's mail

Hi everyone,

Alistair Cockburn is coming to Wellington.  Alistair is one of the "founders" of the agile movement, and remains one of the most respected figures in the industry, with his non-dogmatic, people-centred approach.  He's speaking at the Agile NZ conference on 19 and 20 March, and also plans to teach a couple of courses during that week. The really interesting news is that he's coming to Wellington several weeks before the conference starts, and he'll be available for agile consulting and coaching during that time.  This is a great opportunity to get one of the gurus of agile to help your project.  (In the 10 years or so that I've known Alistair, I think this is the first time he's offered coaching here in Welly).

I asked Alistair to describe the services he can offer, and he wrote:
1-day intro agile workshop
3-day org assessment package
2-day use case to user story class
general consulting about agile project management and techniques for long term planning
If you're interested or would like to know more, you can email Alistair directly at  TotherAlistair (at) aol.com or can ask me for more info at john (at) agilekiwi.com.

Finally, FYI, his surname is pronounced Co-burn, the Scottish way.

John Rusk
