Except for Dave,s accident and all the rain. Not to mention the hurricane force winds and driving rain that we encountered, it was a great time. Very cool place.

Still giving this ride a 5 star despite Dave's accident and I was unable to finish off the ride due to other commitments. It's good to see how everyone remained calm and controlled the situation and did what was needed until emergency services got to the scene. Thanks everyone for making sure Dave got the needed medical attention in a timely manner! With the road conditions as they were this could of happened to any one of us. Great work! A few of us had remained at the scene waiting for the flat bed to make sure the bike was loaded and personal effects were gathered. Dave, we look forward to you having a fast recovery and feeling as good as possible soon!

I would have loved to go on this ride. But, it's been a busy week of moving my daughter back from her apartment and I'm whipped. Looks like you will be hitting heavy rains down there too. The Shiny Diner in Athens (OU) country would also make a great ride. I miss going down there when my daughter was attending college..

We are going to get wet as we head south. :(

At this point I'm still planning on going but I am a wimp with rain. I have not foul weather gear so I will check things out tonight and tomorrow morning. I may start out and break off about half way down as I have family in the Zanesville and Cambridge, Columbus. We will see.

Sorry I won't be around for the Hillbilly Hotdog ride. Hawaii..hotdogs..Hawaii wins this time around. Sorry to hear about the doggy surgery, hope all went well. Being the new guy on the block, I have a couple, maybe three questions to help me plan ahead a bit.
Are there regulars meet ups were we can talk about current scheduled events?

I have a few event ideas I'd like to toss out there and see if others have an interest. A meeting type meetup with maybe coffee or a beer would be a good place to toss around some ideas.

And the final question for today is, is there a list of already scheduled events I could get my hands on?

    May 6

    • marty s.

And now that the weather has finally broke. .. All the "fair weather riders" ( you know who you are !! ) can finally get their bikes out of cold storage. .... We will be doing more dinner rides during the week and lunch rides on weekends , we can discuss things then to. And welcome Victor . Have fun on the islands.

Their are a lot of good riding routes to W.V. Great idea Laurie. Thx

One thing I remember about WV is there is a Dollar General about every four miles.

      2 · February 26, 2014

    • Laurie

      That's funny.......

      February 26, 2014

This looks like an awesome ride and a great destination! Thanks for planning this Laurie...super job...as usual! :)

I also think it looks like a very aggressive ride if we are doing back roads for 500 miles. If you think about it, this is a half Iron Butt ride. I am really looking forward to this ride-I hope the weather holds out!

      2 · February 25, 2014

Yes I hope the temps go above 50 by then!
