Photo assignments - "O"

  • May 11, 2013 · 8:00 AM

A Photographic Assignment is intended to help you develop your image making 'eye'.

You can take photos anywhere in the Bay Area - in fact if you are pushed for time, a good technique is to stand on the corner by your home/office/pub/etc. and complete the assignment WHILST LOOKING WITH A 'FRESH PAIR OF EYES'. Look at details as well as the bigger picture.  Be imaginative.  See different!

Upload your best photos so that all members may make comments and help you improve your photography. The favorite image gets free coffee at the next Meetup! Upload you images by the Monday after the Meetup.

This assignment is "the letter 'O'", taken between 8AM and 5PM on the above date.  It need not be a real O, it could be a circle, a shape, a reflection, an abstract - or anything that you can see as an O.

Try to be creative in finding and photographing anything naturally containing assigned subject - remember the aim is to help improve your 'seeing'.

It was funny looking for something different with"O", and as I was drinking my soda, I noticed the "O" and thought there is something right in my hot little hand...... Thanks Graham for this assignment!

This is a great idea...! The assignment had me looking at things differently; more from a photographer/conceptual/artist view....

Interesting! I like the triangle better, but there were a lot of "O"s in the city!

When/where do we actually meet, if we're taking the picture on the 11th. (8am-5pm?)

We don't (unless a group wants to form). It's a shooting exercise you can do on your own.
