We have our first mini-meetup this Saturday, Feb 25! Some of you responded yes to weekdays, I'll try to set up a mini-meetup for sometime during the week as well. We need ideas for location. Any ideas?

Michael, I hope it won't be a problem, but people wrote and said they prefer the afternoon.

Sounds Great! Depending on whether or not you want to shoot "Lifestyle (Sorry Graham)", nature, or portrait-ish... Lake Merritt, Tilden Park, Martinez (Downtown & Marina) or Treasure Island? My local favorite is Lake Merritt.

Martinez is a great location, so much variety at the pier/nature area. I love portraiture, but I'm open to discussion. Do you have a particular area in mind? Michael's voted for Walnut Creek, which is great. I'm still open to ideas though.

On a Saturday afternoon, Jack London Square offers lots of fun possibilities -- people, boats, waterscapes and the built environment. There's probably something to inspire everyone! For the same reason, you can't go wrong with Lake Merritt, and Walnut Creek also sounds like fun.

I am most fascinated and have a fair amount of experience in doing "street photography-- which is truly great to do with a number of shooters.

OK so we've got two votes for Lake Merrit and Jack London is a great idea as well. I'm open to either, I leave it to you, final vote: Lake Merrit or Jack London?

Both/either are great by me. I have a slight preference in favor of Lake Merritt, as it offers a greater diversity of options.

Yes the next mini can be at the Martinez water front a great place to shoot . Also on weekends the courthouse area is pretty much deserted. Great for out door portraiture too.
