Detroit Public Library Private Tour (Free)

The Detroit Public Library has just started offering private tours, and I have scheduled a tour for us to learn more about this historically and architecturally interesting building in Detroit. We will be able to take photos as we tour the library - bring your tripod!

We will meet in the front entrance of the library, please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can gather for the 11:00 start time. Metered parking is on the street surrounding the library.

Afterwards we will have lunch at Cass Cafe, reservation is for 12:30pm.  When you RSVP, you will be asked if you will be joining us for lunch or not.

Daniel, I am pretty sure that nobody else wants to post photos in the same folder as mine in fear of being confused with my stuff and ruining their reputation forever :|

      I doubt that Paul :-)

The Detroit Public Library is like a museum. Also it is active "working" place of business. Alanna thanks for setting up the tour. Great place to visit, even if your not on the tour that describes the historical background.

Will there be another one of these soon? I am on the waitlist and would love to actually get on a tour in the future.

Daniel - Don't feel back when I posted these library tours they filled up in a matter of hours...

Nora - My meetup members get the email I don't promote these tours anywhere else because they fill up so fast. So yes if you get emails from my group then you will get the email when I add April's tour :)

Sorry for the late cancellation. Sick kid. :( Hopefully someone on the wait list can take my place.

I see I am next in line. Does that cancelation slide me into this tour? Hoping.

Hi Bob, yes if someone removes themselves from the event tomorrow you will automatically be added to the RSVP list :)

I will be attending, but not quite sure how to change my reply from 2 people to 1 without eliminating myself from the tour.

Kit, I sent you an email you are all set.

I did a tour of the main library 2 years ago (which was part of a Preservation Detroit walking tour) - It was quite an eye opener about the library's art works, architecture and history.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
