Masonic Temple Art + Architecture Tour

Join me for an afternoon as we tour the beautiful Masonic Temple's art and architecture. We will meet inside the entrance off the parking lot. On-site, secure, fenced parking is available immediately behind the building (off of 2nd Avenue).

The tour will last approximately three hours to give us ample time to take photographs. Tripods are allowed. Per the Masonic Temple, the images you capture are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially.

While the tour itself is free they do ask for a donation for the tour which will benefit the running of the building and docent training. I am charging a nominal $5 fee which will go towards the donation for our group as I would like to support our city's buildings.

Want to meet up for lunch beforehand?  Meet me at Slows to Go at 12pm on Cass Ave (they have their own parking).  It is a casual place to get some good food before the tour.

I looked at the photos posted from the Masonic Temple and they are wonderful. Detroit has some of the most beautiful older building as any place in the US.

This grand old building is in good shape for it's age and provided plenty of shooting opportunities. Wonderful event!

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the Masonic Temple tour yesterday! It is definitely a Detroit architectural treasure. And thanks to our tour guide John for the history he shared of the building and it's members! The most outstanding in my mind was that the Masons were formed before the USA! For those of you who want to share your images, you can do so by clicking the "upload" icon at the top of this page. I look forward to seeing your images!

Alanna, thanks so much for organizing. Wish I could have photographed with my 5D in lieu of my pocket camera.

For all the bad press that Detroit gets, it has some of the most beautiful historic buildings that a photographer would want to shot. :)

"Bad press" always sells newspapers and TV shows a lot better than good news!

      Amen to that.

And this one we'll shoot, with it's Gothic style like the style of many European cathedrals, is right in our backyard, for us to appreciate.
