Memorial Day Weekend Camp-out @ Otto's

Otto's Place (map)

Selected By: Otto

We have held quite a few Campouts in the past , and everyone has had Fun .

Come out to the Valley for the weekend, pitch a tent or bring your RV, I also have a few bunks available .

Starts Friday eve on the 25th, with the big event on Sunday, at 2:pm we will have a big Pot Luck B-B-Q for those just wanting to come out  Sunday.

Hike, Bike, Kayak , outdoor games,  are a few of the things we can do. In the evening we can share some Smores and tall tails around the campfire.

After a hard day of playing, relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine.
Put it on your calendar and make plans to join us, you wont want to miss out on the fun.

It's  not to early to start planning for the big weekend  Campout .  As in the past your welcome to come out anytime starting Friday afternoon. Around 7:pm I'll have a B-B-Q for those coming out Friday. We can sit around the campfire and socialize a bit deciding where we want to hike or bike on Sat. Bring the beverage of your choice and some snacks.

Saturday about 10:am we will head out for an outdoor adventure, those showing up later on Saturday make your self at home. Saturday meals will be up to you. I have a grill and microwave available plus the campfire for those wanting to rough it. Sunday those wanting to get up early, we can go biking to the lakes on Maud rd.

For the Pot Luck on Sunday at 2:pm I'll supply the Burgers, Hot dogs and buns with the fixings. Pretty much bring what you want to share, salads, deserts, snacks, etc. If we lack something we can make a run to the store. If you have any outdoor games bring them. I have room in my shop if the weather turns wet. This is Alaska you know the weather..... I'm sure I missed something so e-mail me if you need more info.

Somebody please help... I haven't camped in years, and I've never camped in Alaska. I've also been incredibly disorganized lately and can't seem to think what I need to bring with me. Surely, I'm not the only list-maker here? Will somebody please email me their to-do or to-pack list if you have one? Seeing somebody else's list will help me start my own. I'd hate to forget something important and have to introduce myself by begging.

For Julia- additional things that you might want to bring: swimsuit & towel (if the hot tub is working!), rain gear, water bottle and coffee mug, tea or coffee if you have a special kind you like, and any other food or drink you want. Bug repellant, flashlight/headlamp, hiking shoes if you want to hike. It can get cold so bring layers of clothing. Also a pillow! I often forget to bring one and of course you can improvise but a real pillow makes camping much more pleasant. See you there!

A few people asked about a bunk, My Caboose and the Bus are already spoken for. I have a friend that is loaning me a few tents
so if you need a place for the night I can provide dry shelter. You just need to bring a pillow and sleeping bag.

If anyone is bringing their RV and have an empty bunk available and would like to share it let it be known.
