You don't have to do it alone and you can sure have fun with vegetarianism. In Alaska it seems like it can be tough being vegan, vegetarian, or raw when we are surrounded by so many meat eaters, but it is possible, enjoyable and extremely rewarding.

This group was started to promote a community of vegetarians in Anchorage and beyond (there is a fabulous community of vegans in Wasilla to visit every month at the AVS potlucks).

AlaskaVeg is for people who are vegan, vegetarian or curious. The idea of the group is to provide a community for like minded people to get together and enjoy some activities and know that we are not alone. The idea is to have fun and meet new people. Events will vary from Saturday morning vegan waffles, outings, dinner nights, joining up with Alaska Vegetarian Society in Wasilla, etc.

Members are strongly encouraged to post meetup ideas or even sponsor events (just ask your organizers how to sponsor).
