Introduction
Hey I'm Chad. I love craft beer and I am really happy to see so great beer available at so many locations here in the Capital District with new places opening all the time! I started this group as a way to explore all those locations!
What's your favorite style of beer? (i.e. lager, IPA, stout, wheat, etc.)
Up until recently I would've called myself a hophead, but now I appreciate EVERY type of beer under the sun. I am partial to a west coast IPA and a flavored imperial stout, but really it's all good to me.
What's your favorite place for craft beer in the Capital District?
Too many to list! Definitely Mahar's in midtown Albany with The Ruck in Troy a close second. Brown's Brewing Company and Albany Pump Station are making some fantastic microbrews and their food is great, too! I also enjoy: The Dublin Underground; Wolff's Biergaarten; Lionheart; Castleton Mahar's; the Olde English Pub; Bombers; O'Toole's, etc. Coming soon: The Merry Monk in Albany and The Bier Abbey in Schenectady
How would you describe your craft beer experience? (i.e. newbie, intermediate, expert, snob, etc.)
I've never been a fan of fizzy yellow lagers and have always looked for something better. I started out with Saranac, Magic Hat and Samuel Adams and have since worked my way up to fantastic craft breweries like: Southern Tier; Founders; Three Floyds; Stone; Dogfish Head; Samuel Smith's, etc. I'm not a homebrewer (yet). But I'd say I know a lot about beer for someone not intimately familiar with the science and chemistry behind it all. I really enjoy helping people try new beers and expanding their palates. I'm never a snob, but I'll help anyone looking to get into better beer.
What would you like to get out of your ACBE membership? (i.e. experiencing new beers; meeting fellow beer enthusiasts; discovering new bars and pubs, etc.)
All three and then some!

Ah, too bad you were tied up talking to someone! I was trying to keep an eye out for people from the group, but I was slightly distracted by the many tents of beer vendors haha.. not to mention there were a lot of other people there. Not sure yet if I'll make it this weekend, but I will keep it in mind if I'm around!
