Intuitive Art Workshop 3/3 cancelled/death in the family

The afternoon workshop will be a shortened version of the four week class and is meant to be an introduction to the subject. The three hour workshop (with coffee and cookie break) is $25, and you can bring a friend or friends along for and extra $10 each.

First, you don't need any previous art skills. This is art therapy meets psychic reading. You will learn how collage, automatic drawing, chance random acts and intentional accidents can take you and your art into new places where the subconscious becomes conscious. We will draw and interpret dreams and dream symbols and learn how to incubate an idea to take it further. The purpose of this class is to learn about meaning in art and the way art creates a new language to help express what we struggle to say. As Jasper Johns says, art is not about painting what you want, it's about making the painting you can't help but make. We will come up with our own way to use pictures to tell a story, and then develop skill to interpret the images. As your skills develop, you will be able to ask a question and answer it by making art about it. This is where you begin to do intuitive readings by drawing. I did about 100 readings a year for 5 years and they were all fascinating to see. People have told me that the art continues to provide new information, sometimes for years. All materials are supplied for the workshop.  We will work in water soluble crayon, colored pencil and watercolors.
