I write whatever. A lot of different areas of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry interest me . I don't really have a genre at this point. I'm trying to do Camp NaNoWriMo this August.
Anything I can get my hands on. Really. I love words that can move me, I love stories, I love seeing different perspectives , and I love learning things. Sooo really most things written for an audience do at least one of those things. What don't I like to read? No hard and fast rules, but I have a strong bias for clarity of thinking and expression. I also have a bias for plot lines that play within the rules of their own universe (but she had a cellphone the entire time, why didn't she call the cops??? Etc. etc. etc.) and for characters that feel real to me, whether they're realistic or not. But I can think of times where I enjoyed exceptions to those rules....so, pretty much, I just like to read.
I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately, the only name that is a more popular author is Barbara Tuchman. My favorite fiction authors...there are too many to list. (I bet everyone says that). Random sample, I love Robert Crais (or at least his older books), Agatha Christie, Arturo Perez-Reverte, J.K Rowling, Robert Penn Warren, Dostoevsky, Shakespeare, Homer.
Hello! My name is Catherine and I'm new to Albuquerque and love writing. I'm a little shy, but very friendly. Looking forward to meeting you all!
