Country Dancing w/ Optional Lessons & Karaoke

Release your inner cowboy/cowgirl! Nicks is a fun place to enjoy live music, dancing, and simply people watching.

First, we'll start the evening with some food & drinks at the front bar area. At 7:45 most of us will go to take a lesson in either  Two-Step OR some Line Dances.  Classes last 1 hour and cost $5.00.  No partner is needed!  If you think you can't dance, think again!  The instructors are very good, and the Two-Step, in particular, is very easy:  If you can walk, you can do this! DO NOT PAY FOR THE TWO-STEP LESSON AT THE FRONT DOOR; instead, pay for it in the back room at 7:45.  If you prefer to take the line dance lessons, you can pay for that at the door, when you enter.   (I recommend the Two-Step!)

After the lesson ends, at about 8:45, those who prefer to sign up for and listen to Karaoke should grab some seats in the back room.

The LIVE BAND begins at 9:15.   Country music features many different dances, but there will be some Two-Steps and also a number of line dances.    For the line dances, you can jump in and try to follow along.  For the couples dances, there are usually plenty of guys who will ask the gals.

COVER CHARGE: Before 7PM, it is free for everyone.  After 7pm, GUYS PAY $7.After 9pm GALS PAY $5.

Nicks is located ONE MILE FROM THE VAN DORN METRO.  You can walk that distance or take a cab from there.

At 6:30 we will begin to socialize in THE BACK OF THE FRONT BAR AREA around a few tables. From 7:45-8:45 most of us will be taking dance lessons, either in the back room (2-step) or the front room (line dancing).  After 9:15 pm, individual groups will start to go to various places: near the front bar, or on the dance floor, or in the back for Karaoke. If you arrive after 9:15, some of us may still be at some tables in the back area of the bar area; but to find the group, it is best to arrive before the band starts!

I have two additional friends coming, also, but they aren't part of the Meetup group. They just happen to want to go. Looking forward to my first Meetup with this group! Two-step and karaoke!

My schedule has changed and I'm not sure if I can make it tomorrow. Therefore I've changed my RSVP to no so some on the waiting list can take my place. Hope to see you all at a future meetup.
