Bike & Lunch: Arlington Triangle beginning in Shirlington

Let's bike the Arlington Triangle, an INTERMEDIATE level ride of 17 miles.  The plan is to go at an INTERMEDIATE pace of about 13-14 mph.   For those who want to go faster, you are free to ride ahead!  After the hour and half bike ride, we can have lunch together--either Sam Becketts or Poets and Busboys.  Here's the route:       http://bikewashington.org/routes/triangle/triangle.htm

Make sure your bike is in good condition.   Please bring a helmet and water!    Other cycling groups tend to meet at the Library, so make sure you find our group!  You can find parking in the Harris Teeter parking garage right next to the library.

From Shirlington, we will take the  WO&D trail to the Custis Trail that runs parallel to I-66, then take the Mt Vernon Trail past the Nat'l Airport, and then take the Four-Mile Run Trail back to Shirlington.

I have been looking for my bike lock key for hours and haven't found it! I will give it one more shot in the morning, but as of now I will not be attending. No bike. No ride :( Sorry. I'll change my status to no so you are not waiting for me and if I get lucky in the morning I'll just know I have to show up in time. Enjoy!

Gotta pack up this weekend to move to Del Ray, but I'll try to hit this another time.

I haven't been riding in awhile, I may be slower than everybody else!

You may very well be faster than me, since this will be my first ride of the season, other than a short one. The main thing is, if we begin to ride now, we can expect to improve over the next several months!

Sounds like a scenic route of VA and Potomac River. Supposed to be really nice at 70 degrees this weekend.
