Alexandria Momtourage is an entourage of moms who are looking to meet and support other new moms in the ups and downs of motherhood! We have an active, engaging group of ladies who are low key and friendly. Working full time, part time, in school, or staying at home with your little - all are welcome! If you want to establish meaningful relationships for you and your child, you're welcome in our group!
Our mamas engage in a variety of activities such as:
- attending or hosting playdates (freeplay, music, and art)
- going on baby friendly outings to parks and museums
- discussing a fascinating read at our moms' book club
- viewing the latest movie at a crybaby matinee
- celebrating our babies' birth months at monthly birthday bashes
- chatting and connecting at baby happy hours
- taking a breather at kids-free moms' night outs
We also have an active moms' workout group, a Facebook advice and support page, and a Freecycle group to swap books and toys.
Open to anyone, but events will take place close to the Alexandria area
We allow members a trial 30 days to decide if the group is a good fit before remitting the required $8 annual dues.
We pride ourselves on being a laid back and understanding group of mamas, however, it is important when you RSVP to update from "Yes" to "No" if you do not plan on attending. This is common courtesy, and allows others to not be waiting for you if you cannot make it. If you do not show without updating your RSVP, you will be considered a "No-Show". Members who are no-shows more than twice may be removed from the group. We understand that things happen with our little ones, so feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
Please note that we have a strict "No Selling" policy on our Facebook page. Also we strive our hardest to keep online conversation civil and respectful. We are first and foremost a Meetup group, and our focus is creating meaningful in person friendships. Drama and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and can be grounds for removal from the group. Some hot button topics we've found that are better discussed in person are (SAHM/WOTHM, Vax/Anti-Vax, Bottle/Breastfeeding) and we try to be as inclusive and respectful of each other since in the end, we are all facing parenthood together!
