Alexandria Treetops is dedicated to helping individuals improve their public speaking and leadership skills. We're a proud member chapter of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization with nearly 250,000 members in more than 12,500 clubs in 106 countries.
Our meetings are comprised of approximately 15-25 people who meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. We meet in the large community room at Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota, 3750 Jefferson Davis Highway, Alexandria, VA.
Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian. There's no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.
Every month, we also try to plan at least one social event outside of the meetings to encourage our members to get to know each other and to enhance social networking opportunities.
We're a diverse group from all walks of life, joined by a common interests in improving ourselves and supporting and helping each other improve. We invite you to meet us, and we welcome you!
