DEADLINE for Submissions (Work Meeting 1)

Fellow Critters!

This is the DEADLINE for submissions for Work Meeting 1, scheduled for Feb. 22.

No submissions will be accepted past 11:59 pm Wednesday, Fed. 13.

Please upload the writing sample you wish to have critiqued by this MIDNIGHT Thursday, Feb. 14 (Happy Valentine's Day!).

Include within the file description:

  • Your Name
  • The line: "For Critique on Feb. 22, 2013"
  • The Genre of the work
  • Any specific notes you may have, if any, regarding what kind of critique you are seeking

Submissions should not exceed 1300 words or the length of 5 pages one-sided and double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman.

(Font given as a base-line for size of the submission only -- use what ever font you like, though keep the submission double-spaced if possible)

If your sample is excerpted from a larger work and requires some context, please include that in your sample document.  The context note does not count against your 1300 words, but please keep the note to a reasonable length.

Critique groups will be assigned this time 'round by best-fit based upon genre of submissions and RSVPs for the Feb. 22 work session.  We took notes in the last meeting that will be used to assist in this process.  Final critique group assignments will be posted THURSDAY Feb 14.

To upload your sample on our meetup, first sign into and go to this meetup.  Using the meetup menu, start with the More menu option and then select Files.

Then click the link icon that says Add a File.

From there, press the button that says Choose File and use the file browser to locate, select, and upload your sample file.  Don't forget to add your name, the meetup critique date, and the genre within the Description box!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
