Talks n' Beer II

Algorithms & Data Challenges Berlin is proud to participate in the Big Data Week (

The last event's format worked very well, so let's keep it as it is: three speakers with talks of 20 to 30 minutes embedded in chats and beer.

Our three speakers this time:

*) Kelly Davis gives a talk on the basics of persistent homology
*) Eugen Funk presents a framework to allocate ressources in an optimal way by applying L1 regularisation
*) Peter Tegelaar talks about "Constructing Naive Bayes Predictors: the math and use cases"

I'm grateful to Heiko Ehrig and Neofonie for providing the location (and the drinks). Thanks a lot!

See you next week on Thursday (no Champion's League on this day), I'm looking forward to it.

PS: Please cancel your application for the MeetUp in case you cannot come. The waiting list is long (seems we need a bigger location next time); you would give somebody else the chance to participate. Thanks.

I just got confirmed from the waiting list. 75 minute notice too short unfortunately.
