Miss Bala
The Laemmle theater in Pasadena is showing one of its occasional movies in Spanish (with English subtitles), a film that's received a lot of good reviews called "Miss Bala". It's about an aspiring beauty queen who gets caught up in the violent drug war going on in Mexico. It didn't receive an Oscar nomination, but it is Mexico's official Best Foreign Picture entry.

I have discount tickets purchased in bulk, $6 instead of $11, so you can buy them from me if you want when we meet in front of the theater. Please try to bring exact change, and try to arrive on time around 6:45pm. The movie starts at 7 and we'll go inside around 6:55, so if you arrive later than that you'll have to pay full price and look for us inside.
It's possible that Laemmle will change what movies are showing before this date, so I'll keep an eye on their web site and update the Meetup page for this event once they release the schedule, probably Tuesday 2/14.
