Immerse yourself in Baroque France at the little known museum of Wallace Collection, set in beautiful Hertford House in Marylebone. It has enough Old Masters to fill several blockbuster exhibitions - no timed ticket (in fact no ticket at all as it's free), no red rope, no crowds and take as many photos as you like.
Below is the programme this year:
11.00 to 16.00: Card games (landing), commedia dell'arte, treasure hunt.
11.30 to 14.30: Pop-up fashion and photography (meeting room).
12.00, 13.15 & 14.45: Baroque n Roll with travelling players (great gallery).
13.00, 14.30 & 16.00: Meet Marie Antoinette (study).
11.15 - 11.45: Talk on Chinoiserie (small drawing room).
12.00 - 12.30: Talk on Jean-Baptiste Oudry (back state room).
12.45 - 13.15: Talk on splendour v poverty in c18 (west gallery).
13.30 - 14.00: Talk on the age of letter writing (boudoir).
14.15 - 15.00: Talk and musical performance (lecture theatre).
15.30 - 16.00: Talk on Augsburg toilette service (west room).
We will meet at the Wallace Restaurant at 11.00 for a coffee before starting our day of time travelling.

Good restaurant ...Have a meal -you won't be disappointed!
(and, if you have time, Hertford House contains one of the finest collections of Eighteenth Century French art outside Paris!)
See if you can get Bary to pose for a photograph ...as the, so called, Laughing Cavalier.
