Ash Wednesday by candlelight (free)

Celebrate Ash Wednesday in the Lady Chapel of atmospheric Mediaeval church SBG by candlelight. The mass will start after the imposition of ashes.
Music to be performed includes Missa Emendemus in melius (Palestrina), Emendemus in melius (Byrd) and the ever-popular Miserere (Allegri), where the echo choir is at the west end of the building.
Great St Bart's dates from 1123 and is one of the oldest churches in London. You can see my Flickr photos via this link.
Please go directly to the Lady Chapel, which is at the east end behind the high altar. Do bring a wet wipe if you don't like walking into a pub with a black cross on your forehead!

We continued at the wonderful Jerusalem Tavern and rounded off the evening with a pizza.Checked-in -
