Little Baroque Company presents Bach's Coffee Cantata, a short comic work depicting the rise of the coffeehouse and the addiction to the gritty black stuff in c18 Europe.

Music includes Ariodante Overture (Handel), Suite Burlesque de Quixotte (Telemann) and Schweigt stille, plaudert nich (Bach).

Tickets cost £15 (coffee and cake included) and can be booked online via this link. Doors will open at 17.30.

St Andrew Holborn has been a site of worship since Roman times. It is elegant and spacious, with excellent acoustics - my photos here.

Coffee, cake and Bach ... life is good. A sparkling performance full of joie de vivre - I didn't even mind the Coffee Cantata being sung in English as the translation was spot-on and hilarious, even mentioning Facebook and Twitter!
