Palm Creek at Warm Springs (map)

This is a soft footing, easy ride that starts with a seasonal water crossing and leads to a cavalcade of colors. It includes beautiful rounded clay hills, castle like cliffs of mud stone, and the option of riding the easy wash or trying some light challenges and hillside riding. The first part of this ride is across open country and lasts approximately an hour and a half. All the riders are welcome to join us on a trek up a twisting, narrow, single track side ravine, which culminates with an expanse of Hoodoo’s. This portion of the ride will add an hour. For those that want another hour of saddle time, we will ride over to an historic stone cabin and check out the petroglyphs in the area. Total time for the complete ride is approximately 4 hours.
All caliber and experience levels can be accommodated on this ride. Because it is broken into three segments, each rider can return to the staging area and then to Palm Creek Oasis, at their leisure.
Everyone will meet at Don Davis’ Palm Creek Oasis and we will head from there to the trailhead. Riders are welcome to return to the Palm Creek Oasis to relax and allow the horses some spa time when they finish their ride. We will have BBQ‘s and charcoal available to everyone. This is a “bring your own food and beverage” outing. Better yet, make a weekend of it and join the group overnight. Don will be stoking the campfire, putting on his bib overalls and telling “Tall Tales of the Trail” as the night wears on.
FYI, those that wish to stay overnight or return the next morning; we will be doing a ride on Sunday, to Dragon Wash, in Valley of Fire. Anyone that wishes to come up Friday or overnight Saturday must contact Don Davis at [masked]. There will be some limited stalls and RV spots available.
Keith would it be o.k if the family joins us after the ride for the b.b.q and camp fire ?
Hi All. I am really looking forward to the ride on Saturday. I was wondering if others who are going want to meet at the Love's Truck Stop at I-15 and Apex and convoy to Don's. I am thinking of getting to the Truck Stop at around 8:30 and heading out around 8:45 or so. If interested in meeting up leave a message here or on "The Wall" off the Home page on AVH. I will be driving a tan Ford F-250 with a 3H LQ Charmac trailer. See you there! Trish
David, would love to have all of you join us afterwards. You missed the last after ride BBQ. This one is a "bring your own food and beverage". We will have the BBQ and fire going.
Hi Keith, we would like to bring a new friend tomorrow, would that be ok?
Are they willng to help with trail work? ha ha. You and Paul are welcome to bring anyone you want. It is always nice have new folk join our outings.
Saved you some time Keith and transferred your photos from Facebook, most of them anyway. I know you're busy on Dragon today.
Do not forget the Camera
