A Week at Yosemite National Park

Please read all the details if you are interested in this event. We've had trips to Zion National Park, Yellowstone, and Solvang/Hearst Castle, now Yosemite may be the most popular destination to date.

From the Worldmark Resort in Angels Camp, we will have access to Yosemite, as well as other areas of the Sierra Nevada Gold Country.  This is Memorial Day week, the traditional start of the tourist season, but still early enough that the park won't be too crowded.

The spring thaw will ensure waterfalls are flowing at their peak to give us some of the best of hiking conditions!  We'll plan various hikes each day - in the Valley, Glacier Point, Tuolumne Meadows, and the Giant Sequoia Redwood trees at Wawona.  The more adventurous may even choose to climb the cables to the top of Half Dome!

Here's a link to the National Park Service web site for Yosemite:

And here is the web site for Worldmark Angles Camp:

The cost for 7 nights' lodging (Saturday to Saturday) will be  $200 or less per person, with the exact amount depending mainly on how many go.  We may have a maximum of 24 people, but will likely increase that to 32.   News flash!  Worldmark has a special on right now and those who sign up by Dec. 31 will save about $10.

NOTE:  For those on a tighter budget, there is a possible option of staying 5 days/4 nights (Monday to Friday) for half the cost.  However, this can't be reserved as far in advance, so availability is risky.  But if this would be your only option, let me know and I can keep you informed.

The condos all have fully furnished kitchens, so eating in is an option to save money.  Everyone will be encouraged to form carpools making it even more economical.

A deposit of $100 will be required to be moved from the wait list to "going", as well as ensuring compatibility of roommates and others in the condo you will be sharing (if you already have a roommate arranged, please let me know).

Priority (as with room assignments) will be given to those who have gone on our previous trips, and to those who attended our planning meeting for the trip.

Deposits will be refundable until March 1, although after that date your payment can be transferred to someone taking your place.  The balance of the cost will be due by March 1.

A week is too long for me - any future plans for a 3 day or 4 day weekend? Perhaps for July 4th!
