Post-production is a general term applied to the stages of creating a film, television or video production that take place after the shooting and/or recording, which include:
- Film / Video Editing
- Visual (aka 'Special') Effects
- Sound Editing / Mixing / Re-recording
- Color Correction / Adjustment
Until recently, the tools required to perform post-production were very expensive and took hundreds of hours to learn. Now, most recent PC's, and even many tablets and smartphones are capable of post-production feats that entire studios of years past could not perform, using software that is more affordable than ever, including many applications that cost nothing.
The Allentown Film Crew Post-Production meeting explores these emerging tools, discusses the existing tools that have been around and studies the art of using these constantly evolving tools to turn a series of individual video and sound clips into a single creation that tells a story.
If you have experience or just an interest in any part of the post-production process, then this is the place for you! We need help editing the movies we make, so let your creative side shine and give us a hand.
The meeting is one hour before our regular meeting.
More information about post-production, including how-to guides can be found on our website: http://allentownfilmcrew.com/meetings/post-production/

With our new facilities, we'll have a 42" TV to show films. We'll look at AFC projects, member's other projects, and clips from various films (independent, commercial, etc.) with a focus on a particular aspect of production or post-production. (i.e. directing, editing, acting, etc.) Next to working on a film yourself, watching others' work is the best way to learn. We'll keep the business part of the meetings as brief as possible. We hope this will make it more interesting and fun for everyone!
