Hi! I'm a 45 year old wife & mother of 2 grown daughters. My 25 yr. old daughter & I LOVE to crochet, craft, and like to do craft shows! We are always looking for new patterns, techniques, and new crafts to try.
I've been crocheting since I was 20...so about 25 years. I actually started learning from my mother & grandmother when I was 12, but didn't really pick it up seriously until I was 20 & had my first daughter!
My mother started teaching me the basics. My grandmother crocheted daily, and I would go to her house & watch her & ask questions. I taught myself the rest, after I began crocheting seriously when I was 20.
My first project was a pillow, and it came out about 2 inches longer at the top than at the bottom!! LOL! But I was still proud of it!
For Christmas, I crocheted my youngest daughter an afghan made with double strand of worsted weight yarn. I made it large enough to cover a full size bed so she could snuggle under it with her boyfriend comfortable....or share it with her 2 cats!
I loved how my afghan came out! I used a simple pattern that a friend of mine invented & it worked up so quick & so thick! My daughter loved it!

welcome Tammy - I apologize that I didn't greet you sooner. My family and I were out of town for a short vacation. I look forward to meeting you and your daughter. I hope you can find us on Facebook - Alliance crochet (apologies if you already did and I just didn't notice yet. :)
Looking forward to meeting your daughter, too!
Hi Tammy. I'm so glad you found us! Our next meetup will be on Wednesday, January 4 at the Blue Fig in Alliance. We gather around 7 and stay until we're ready to leave! We also have a group on Facebook that we tend to use more than this site. Welcome again! We're looking forward to meeting you!
Hi Tammy, I noticed that we have simular interests, even some of the things on your list that are not on mine. I also know how life altering disability can be as I had to go on SSDI two years ago, then moved back to Salem last year to be near family. It would be great if we could get a group going IN Salem as I travel via taxi these days. If you decide to start a group, let me know. I've debated about starting one but I am a little chicken, lol. Take care, Nancy
