Almaden Hiking Group is a hiking group organized by people who love and enjoy nature, making new friends, and getting some exercise. Our primary objective is to explore and enjoy nature. We will stop to see the wild flowers, waterfalls, towering redwood trees, take a picture, or have a small snack.
Almaden Hiking Group is the right match for you if you are in the age group of 40's to 60's. This group is ideal for couples, people who are in a relationship, or people whose partners or spouse doesn't like the outdoors, but we welcome everyone. Most of our hikes are in the range of 4 to 8 miles and moderate difficulty level. Occasionally we will do longer or strenuous hikes. We welcome new members, but since this is a small hiking group, we request you to answer a few questions for us to decide if your interest matches with the existing member’s interests. Before joining our group, please read the important information posted under the "Pages" tab. Read the "About Almaden Hiking Group" and the "Almaden Hiking Group rules" pages.
Once a quarter we remove inactive and unpaid members and will approve people waiting to be joined.
We collect $10.00/year to cover for the website management cost and other expenses including annual picnic. If you lead at least 4 hikes in a year, or other events, your membership dues will be waived.
Our event organizers are volunteers and not compensated for their time from the funds collected. It is encouraged to show your appreciation to these hike leaders when you attend a hike.
