Intro Ice Climbing and Mountaineering

This location is shown only to members

Get outdoors and have fun this winter. Experience the challenge of climbing a frozen waterfall and hiking to the top of a snowy peak.

Learn the techniques and balance that will have you kicking efficient steps with your crampons and cruising up the waterfalls with each swing of the ax.

Ice climbing has become very user friendly due to lighter axes and warmer clothing. Even if you have never climbed before you can get in on the fun.

Mountaineering in the High Peaks is great in the winter. No Bugs, beautiful scenes and no crowds will have you thinking about winter a little differently. Our trips focus on getting people introduced to new adventures and having fun. Two beginner locations will be climbed for a great intro weekend.

Brian Dellett will be your guide to the High Peaks of the Keene Valley just outside of Lake Placid. Brian has been climbing for over 20 years and is a American Mountain Guide Association certified SPI and has his Guides License in New York for Ice and Rock Climbing.

We'll be staying in a hostel just outside of Lake Placid. The trip up is about 5 hours but the climbing and scenery is worth the trip. Everyone will meet at the hostel Friday night and look at the conditions to see which day will be better for climbing and hiking. Sunday will go till 4pm before heading home.

All trips are $285.00. Hostel lodging, boots, crampons, snowshoes, climbing equipment and Guides included. Transportation and food are not included. Participants should arrive by 11pm Friday night.

Questions or for more info email [masked] Directions and list of what to bring will be emailed when payment is received.
