Great news, we now have a space!
[masked] has invited us into his 5,000sf facility and is enthusiastic about it becoming Alpharetta's first makerspace. Finding a place to call home is one of the biggest hurdles for a new maker club, and we're over it!
The next hurdle is the core team. We're looking for forward-thinking, resourceful people who can turn lead into gold with a hacksaw and computer. This early crew is not going to be too hung up on equipment, but will rely on ingenuity and craftiness. Need a milling machine? Let's build an open source desktop model.
I'd like to meetup at the shop on Saturday at 11am to start working on a group Saturday project (or bring your own if you work better alone or in a tiny group).
Hope to see you there,
Everyone who becomes a paid member is welcome to join in. pls bring $99 for first mo. membership. Even if you're not an electronics expert, join the club and come hang out, we'll all learn in the process.
update: first 2 visits to the shop are free, $99 gives membership for the month, $75 for students. Otherwise $20 per visit + signed waiver.
