For our November Forum, we are delighted to have an expert to speak on the solar industry: Joonki Song, from PHOTON Consulting. Joonki will discuss the worldwide PV industry: market size, growth, and leaders, as well as the future possibilities for technologies, manufacturing and installed cost.
Joonki Song has a background in corporate finance in the electronics and semiconductor industry, having worked as a financial analyst at Samsung Electronics in Korea. At PHOTON Consulting he leads their research analyzing and forecasting costs and pricing in the mid-stream of the solar PV industry. He also analyses key industries connected to the solar PV sector; his research includes detailed benchmarking of company performance.

Most recently, Mr. Song was an invited panelist at PHOTON's Seventh International Annual Silicon Conference, held this March in Munich, speaking to the topic: Insight on Costs and Prices and Factory Planning.
PHOTON Consulting is the largest dedicated solar energy research consultancy and is a leading supplier of in-depth research, management and strategic consulting services specific to the PV sector. They recently announced the release of The Solar Annual 2009 - Total Eclipse, a research report for an industry recovering from the recent macroeconomic crisis; a sector set to resume its growth trajectory, but with saturation of key markets as a new challenge on the horizon.

Joonki holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and received a BA from Yonsei University in Korea. He is a colleague of Michael Rogol, who spoke on the solar industry at a BASEA forum several years ago.
