A Door in a wall - interactive murder mystery game!

  • March 17, 2013 · 3:00 PM

013 is looking exciting for A Door In A Wall and I'm pleased to announce a couple of dates for your diaries! In March we are collaborating with pop-up mall Boxpark to put on a compact murder mystery adventure with a stylish theme:

A new collection has hit the catwalk, but its celebrated designer lies dead. With no witnesses to an ugly deed, the beautiful people are calling on you to solve this murderous mystery. Form a team of intrepid detectives and sharpen your senses as you search London's Boxpark for hidden clues and colourful characters. Can you assemble enough evidence to discover just who is responsible for this unfortunate fashion victim...

We'll be running the game 4 times, with an early (10:30 - 2:30) and a late (3 - 7) run on both Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March. Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday 8th February via WeGotTickets - links and more info will pop up on our site or our Facebook page soon - priced at £15 per person. It's a team game (3-6 suggested) with each team needing a smartphone between them.

With this one, we're trying out a shorter-form version of our big murder mystery games and we'll be making use of a few classic clue mechanics so if you're a hardened ADIAW veteran, you may recognise some familiar ground. If you've not tried to solve one of our fiendish tales before then A Crime of Fashion is an ideal introduction.

I'm suggesting sunday afternoon for this - if you are up for it, we'll need to get tickets on the 8th as they sell out VERY FAST INDEED!

As nobody apart from Ania replied to any of my messages about this :( I'm presuming none of you have tickets so am removing you all from the attending list.

Guys, this sold out at a few mins past 10! Please can you change your RSVP if you didn't get a ticket? However, don't despair quite yet, as I think there will be a few people who got tickets when their friends didn't and may decide to sell on their facebook page!

Hi everyone, remember 10am tomorrow! There are only 50 tickets available for the slot I've picked, so they will go very fast!

Sounds fab! I'm pretty useless at buying tickets when they're first released though. Could we do a paypal thing and try to buy a job lot?

Hi Becca, we don't tend to do this as it makes things way more complicated for the organiser and could be a bit of an admin nightmare. It makes more sense for everyone to buy individually, so they are responsible for their own ticket and they physically have it so they can try to sell it on if they can't make it/get sick/change their mind etc. I proposed this event and personally wouldn't be prepared to purchase people's tickets for them, I'm afraid!

Yes, like Caroly says, I'm not against doing this, but I can foresee that it could end up being quite a pain if anything changes/people can't make it, and in our experience this tends to happen a lot! I wouldn't rule it out in the future, but for now, I think it makes sense for people to get their own. Sorry!

    January 28, 2013

    • Carolyn

Not sure - I think they went within 20 mins last time, but they did release more later...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
