Orbital, OMD, DJ Shadow, Twice a Man, Metallica, anything on the Canadian Netwerk label (e.g. Cris & Cosey, Smersh). Kevin Meier's "New Generic". Music that can speak across Cultural Lines and does not feel it needs to be "Americanized" like "Budweiser" merely to "popularize" the revenue ca$h flow.

Which Label has produced progressive music?

EMI, NonSuch Records, Netwerk, IRS and mostly the best Independent Based labels "rare to find" archives that in all honesty even if you only have at best a two hour attention span (for a movie meetup or cinema, etc.)

Other than the location of the organizer can you name another meetup location?

Small events are as simple as an Emerson Portable Player. I met a guy at UNO (Lakefront) who actually possessed a device which fit this meetup group perfectly! The key here is any location where the expression of the work is not unnecessarily disturbed or interrupted. It does not have to be a studio location, I have evidence that "out doors" "real time" is good enough in most environments.
