Hello. I'm a guitar player who is not ready to 'play out' at this point as I am a bit rusty/have not picked up the instrument regularly in a while. I very much want to get back to playing/creating again, however. I am not a songwriter, not yet anyway, and I am not looking for perfect players, as the purpose here is to have fun, be creative, laugh, let go of our egos, ( as much as is humanly possible anyway). All aspects of musicianship are welcome: songwriters, singers, yes, even tamborine players, whatever. Maybe you just want to watch us play. That's ok with me. I love rock except for the extremely heavy stuff, jazz, blues, soul, the funky stuff, R & B, some traditional country and also just pure pop. For more info about me, and some of my musical influences/tastes, you can check out my add in the chicago reader for free under 'limitless35' in the just friends section. There is more of my personality there, more to see. My vision for these meet-ups is a relatively simple one:learn some songs, play those songs, enjoy the creative process, have fun. I'll close this section by naming some musical favorites of mine, but this list will be way too small as there is a lot of good stuff out there. Hendrix, The Band, The Staple Singers, Becker and Fagan, Beatles, Neil Young, The Who, Donnie Hathaway, Glen Cambell, Jimmy Webb, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Talking Heads, Beach Boys, Aerosmith, Queen, Nirvana, Spirit, a lot of 50's non-rock like Sinatra. I like a lot of newer artists as well, but I don't follow them as closely as some of my old favorites. Perhaps you can enlighten me regarding some newer bands, etc.
