Come and enjoy a stress-free end to your day through riparian landscape and open grassland. Along the way discover evidence of bobcat, coyote and deer through scat and other signs. This easy hike is suitable for people ages 7 and older. It will be led by Laguna Canyon volunteers. Wear sturdy walking shoes, a hat and sun protection, and layered clothing to be prepared as the cool afternoon. Bring at least one water bottle and a snack. The walk is only 3 miles round trip, and is mostly level terrain, with a gain of only 100 feet. The walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on our pace. Reservations Required Online ww.lagunacanyon.org/activities.html Donation: $2/person. For questions call: [masked]. Parking: $3 Those interested will meet at a CAR-POOL location in Costa Mesa at 2:20 pm. Meet in the rear parking lot of the Denny's Restaurant located at 3170 Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, just off the 405 freeway. Each passenger will pay the driver $1 to pay for the cost of gasoline and parking. Please be prompt; we will be departing from the parking lot at 2:30 pm sharp. If you prefer to drive to the location: DIRECTIONS: From the 5 freeway in Laguna Hills, take the Alicia Parkway exit, and head 4 miles south to the posted Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park on the right. This turnoff is located merely a quarter-mile south of Aliso Creek Road. After passing Aliso Creek Rd., turn at the first right turn called Awma, then left into parking lot. PARKING: There is a $3 fee to park in the dirt and gravel parking lot located at the Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park museum. You can try to find free parking on the street, but it fills up fast. After the hike, we will go to a local eatery to enjoy a yummy lunch, if the group decides to do so.
