Brisk 'Keep Fit' Walk - Black Rocks to Middleton Top (and beyond) and back

An alternative to an exercise class at the leisure centre.  Black Rocks up to Middleton Top and beyond, to give a round trip of 4-5 miles (about an hour and a half).  I expect there will still be plenty of mud around so I'll be kitted out in walking boots etc.  Please note that this includes quite a long steep-ish climb.

Please note the word 'BRISK'.

Thanks for that one Ellen. Would have commented last night but after a meal and a couple of glasses of wine guess I fell asleep. Colin as well - as always some interesting snippets of information provided along the way

Thanks Mike and Colin. An invigorating 5 miler with a couple of good climbs and interesting conversation. Feeling quite virtuous now :-) I look forward to the next one.

Ta Ellen, think i've found it by a cemetery. I will be coming via the B5035 from Ashbourne

      April 28, 2014

    • Ellen

That's right - just next to the cemetery.

I'm trying to move these around a bit to try to suit as many people as possible. There's one on Wednesday 7 May - I hope you'll be able to join us then :-)

Black Rocks car park charges apply up to 8pm. £1.30 for 2 hours. Likely to be enough free roadside parking on the adjacent access road. Otherwise there's a dead ended layby 250m along the B5035 road to Middleton.

This won't be suitable for ollie will it he is two

    • Ellen

Regrettably, I don't think this will suit Ollie. The walk at Shipley Park on 12th May would be better.
