The library limits the # attendees at this event, so please sign up now, keep your RSVP updated, and out of your respect for all history lovers- show up to the event.

I will be keeping an attendance record.

The West Bottoms is the low-lying part of Kansas City pinched between downtown Kansas City, KS and Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, MO.

While the Kansas part was devoted chiefly to the stock slaughter business, the Missouri part was devoted to the transportation of goods and passengers, and the warehousing of agricultural goods.

Meeting Point:We will meet in the Bottoms at the intersection of Santa Fe and Union for a brief lecture followed by a 70-minute walking tour.

I will add details as they become available, but this area is rich in KC History and will be an excellent way to spend a Saturday morning.

Thanks for the FYI Stephanie! The group appreciates it!

Perhaps lunch or a glass of wine at Amigoni after the tour!

You must RSVP via the link above to reserve your space.

FYI...For those that are attending tomorrow, downtown is going to be crazy due to the American Royal Parade. While the parade is taking place on Grand, it may make your commute into the West Bottoms area slow going depending where you are coming from.

Perhaps since you work for the library you might suggest the email be clearer on just what a confirmed registration means. That it doesn't mean you're confirmed to attend, you're just confirmed as registered. I don't know what "truly registered" means. To someone like me, who's never received one before, the distinction is not clear and it certainly appears to say "you're all set to go". If there are others on the waiting list, and I have no reason to doubt you, I will definitely not show up. I would never intentionally try to cut in on someone else or over-burden the tour leader by purposely exceeding a pre-set limit. I am a brand new member to this group, but I can assure you I am both responsible and personally accountable for my own actions. What you might personally do or not do does not enter into my decision making process. Thank you for informing me about the waiting list.

Nice speech. Here's the phone number to the branch hosting this tour: Blue Springs North 8162248772. And the staff member's name that I talked to yesterday about the waiting list is Mary. Feel free to call and get clarification yourself and to suggest more clarity in the registration process. I've already suggested many things to the library in the time I've worked there.....you have good reason to so you go for it!

Guess I didn't act quickly enough, as the tour is full.... but I am on the waiting list, so who knows !

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
